Building an effective tool kit seems to be a never ending quest for many riders. Adding and subtracting various tools and knick-knacks over the years leave many riders with either the perfect set up or a bloated mess inside a saddle bag. “When we started asking riders what they had in their saddle bags and repair kits there were a few things that were non-negotiable like tools, levers and chain breakers, but after those things get highly personal,” said Brian Davis, creator of Fix It Sticks. “Some folks only carry pumps, only carry sealant, only carry Co2, etc, but some items were never off the list. So we set out to cover those things that everyone has and then leave some room for personalization in our approach to the kits. Maybe over time, we will add more items, but for now, we wanted to really tackle the staple items carried in repair kits.”

To that end, Fix It Sticks created a line of accessories that riders can bring or easily delete depending on the riding they do. Fix It Sticks Replaceables always allowed riders to bring whatever tool bits they need to work on any bike. Growing on that design riders can now add on a 15mm wrench, tire levers and a chain breaker that are all designed to use the sticks themselves as part of the design which drastically reduces the footprint of the tools while still delivering a very satisfying tool experience.

“Of course multitools can tackle any number of problems, but they are fiddly to use. Also before Fix It Sticks, I carried many items on that multitool for years that I didn’t know how to use and didn’t need. Now with our modular approach, you can build your own multitool so to speak and only carry what you need. Nothing else offers the customization that our design brings and on top of being a joy to actually use.”

The chain breaker works with the Original or the Replaceable versions, while the levers and wrench are specifically designed to work with the Replaceables or the T-Way Wrench, the company’s shop tool. The design of the chain breaker is uniquely compact and works with 9,10,11 and 12-speed chains. Again the design relies on the sticks themselves to provide the handles and leverage for breaking the chain.

The company also added a clip to carry the Replaceable tools and up to 8 bits. They offer a wide selection of bits on their website and all the accessories are available for order/pre-order on their website www.fixitsticks.com. Retail versions of these accessories will be available soon through distributors in the US and worldwide.
