What is SLO Cyclist’s Open Road?

Legitimate question.

“OPEN ROAD” sounds a lot like poetic waxing on togetherness and community. And I guess it kind of is, but, well, I can’t say that kind of thing with a straight face. It’s probably psychological. Whatever. Anyway, after calling for a few contributing writers on SLO Cyclist, we got the idea that being closed off is lame. We want to give more riders the opportunity to write for us without so much formality involved. So, this is what we came up with: Open Road.

Here you can upload and share your own articles, how-to guides, memes, product reviews, pictures of cool stuff you’ve found by the side of the road while riding, new gear you’ve seen or want to see, pretty-much-anything-you-find-interesting, and more. We’ve got tons of categories for you to fill with content. And the cool part is, it all gets shared on our social media channels and on SLO Cyclist. Yah.

We’re in phase 1, currently. Phase 2 involves way more awesome. It’s hush hush, but we’re trying to make a go of Phase 1 to see how well it turns out. Help us out by submitting your content, offering your helpful observations, and commenting on articles. Likes, shares, comments all help us out and you too.

Ready to write? Submit your content here. Have questions or comments? Get in touch with us. Really want to see some specific content? Request an article here.

Oh, and, hey. Thanks.

  1. I just came across your page. I think it would be nice to hear from those that ride but don’t necessarily adhere to the cycling tradition of wearing matching clothes and, having the latest and greatest. those that love cycling but like to be their own person, I suppose we’d be called rebels or gypsies, we clip in we wear helmets and we love healthy competition, be it with our selves or others. It would be great to hear from these other cyclists.
