Aesthetics and helmets generally don’t go hand in hand (especially when we’re talking aero helmets). But recent advances in helmet tech have expanded our options from the straight up mushroom-head styling and into more appealing looks. Brooks is throwing their hat into the ring . . . literally . . . with their newly announced Island and Harrier helmets.
According to Brooks, their plan with the new releases is to develop a new range of helmets combining timeless design with the comfort, safety, and performance of a modern helmet.
The Brooks Island Helmet
The first model in a range of helmets designed and offered by Brooks in several decades is the Island, which is tailored for the urban rider. The helmet’s construction comprises a tough, polycarbonate outer shell and exact-size adjustor. The result is definitely distinct by the looks of it.

The Brooks Harrier
If you’re into racing, the Harrier is meant for you. Keeping with the Brooks’ aesthetic, they managed to pull out a road design that is both unique and yet follows the current trends.
A combination of aerodynamics and light weight (exact weight forthcoming) make for a sleek appearance while Brooks aims to offer secure performance and comfort to the road or gravel rider. Four cooling channels with a few exhaust vents out the back should provide ample airflow. Key features include the size adjustor fit system and signature Brooks copper branding.

The Harrier and Island helmets are available at Triboom, which is Brooks’ new platform. Think Kickstarter, but way more stylish. Triboom members get exclusive input in their product development–pretty cool, we think. Find out more about Triboom and the special offer from Brooks here.
